An area which was once renowned for its ship building; over the last few decades this industry has died off causing a number of jobs to be lost. 'Shepherd Offshore' is looking to revitalise the area bringing opportunities back to the region; this development and production of offshore wind farms are to be sited off the coast of the United Kingdom. This development will help the North East reach it targets for renewable energy in the worlds fight against climate change.
