Leonidou's recent work draws upon theories of representation informed by semiotics and psychoanalysis. Inspired by film noir and her own dreams, starting points for the creation of narrative forms in her photography, 'Broken' is a study of the relations between film, dream and spectator. By depicting these tableau scenes, her work also examines how films and dreams can be fabricated by each other.Coming from an art and design background in Cyprus, Angela Leonidou has been working in photography for eight years.
