DepartureThese images explore the very current subject of redundancy within society. The project began studying the Beeching's Axe, a report put together in 1963 by Dr Richard Beeching, to cut and close down a lot of national railway services throughout the UK, to cut costs of the National Railway system. It developed onto focussing on the fall of the mining industry within Cornwall. The images represent a personal response to the subject matter.
