Kelly Freeman
I had always wanted to see Mount Everest and if possible climb to its Base Camp. Last year I decided to do just that. A friend asked if he could join me, he was struggling with addictions and thought this could be a way to overcome them. After setting up and working through a training programme with him for a year, we headed to Nepal in May 2010. I documented the process through images and the final part through video as well. The following is a series of screen grabs and comments from the videos. We reached Everest Base Camp a height of 5364m (17,598ft)on May 26th 2010 and he overcame his original addictions but found a new one - mountaineering.
