Jackie Baker
Jackie Baker's work involves exploring the pathways and interesting dips and delves in woodland. Paths that seem to go on endlessly, that give the impression the path goes on to somewhere, but you do not know where it ends. Within a child's vivid imagination this could be a place of fairies and goblins, a scary but exciting place to escape to and explore. This work can have many metaphors - danger, exploration, the fear of what is ahead, challenges, obstacles to climb over, but also a space that can give a form of transcendence and escapism.
