Promote your BA / MA / MFA graduate work
via the Source magazine website.

Watch the video and then book your place, more details below.

It's easy to put up your own website, but difficult to connect with an informed audience. Source Graduate Photography Online has been running successfully since 2007 and is designed to promote graduate photographic work from the UK and Ireland to our readership which includes picture editors, curators and those active in contemporary photography.

Each student's work is represented by 5 images, an artist's statement and contact details. All the work is arranged by University course and you can also search the site by genre. You can see what the 2012 BA Phase looks like here: Graduate Photography Online 2012.

Each year we also ask key people in the industry to introduce all the work by making a selection of the photographs they find most interesting. You can read who they are this year along with the complete details of what we provide below.

Printed Supplement for BA phase of Graduate Photography Online,
as distributed with Issue 71 of Source.

How it works and what to do now:

Graduate Photography Online is open to any BA, MA or MFA photography course in the UK or Ireland and any student can reserve a place for their year group.

  1. Select a lead student and get them to book your year group's place by emailing stephen@source.ie You must have at least 5 students initially and you can confirm the exact number in April 2013. The lead student will be the contact person between your group and Source.
  2. We will confirm the course's space is booked via email. In April 2013 we will contact the lead student with a reminder and login details for the online submission facility.
  3. The Lead Student will be responsible for gathering and loading their year group's images and text onto our server and for making a single payment for the group online via their paypal account.
  4. The lead student should let fellow students know what is needed from them and what the final deadline is. We suggest gathering all the material together a week in advance.
  5. The lead student will then submit all the material - using Source's online submission facility - within the given dates.

The Lead Student will gather the following from each participating student:

  • Five images as digital files, 72 DPI and 600 pixels wide on the longest side. We cannot accept moving image files.
  • A 120 word statement about their work.
  • Personal email address.
  • Personal telephone number (optional).
  • Personal website address (optional).
  • A postal address with a full post code - this will be the address to which the free subscription to the magazine will be sent. The subscription will commence in July so the address must remain current for the year following. If the student is uncertain about where they will be residing during this period they may wish to provide the address of their parental home instead.

Submission Dates:

  • BA Courses: You will be able to submit from 1st May 2013 and the final deadline is 14th May 2013.
  • MA / MFA Courses: You will be able to submit from 20th August 2013 and the final deadline is 31st August 2013.
