My photographic practice is based around using archival, vernacular photographs. In this body of work I have collected photographs in which the subject is aware of the camera, but for one reason or another, is looking elsewhere. The photographs have been manipulated to focus on their gazes and certain expressions in order to open up a narrative about why this would be happening, and our ever-changing relationship to the camera.
