Sarah Jackson
The Last Refuge
Sarah's project looks into the life and employment of her mother, who worked for over thirty years for the Ministry of Defense electronics factory in her hometown. The images document factory workers desks, using the desks as a means of understanding the workers and their role in the industry. Within this project she addresses the issues of the decline of industry within the UK. Furthermore, dealing with feelings about her own role as a teenage munitions employee; as well as her awareness of the impact that working in this industry could have in relation to armed conflict.
