Untouchable
'Untouchable' is a photographic project exploring the fundamental ideas of femininity, sexuality and the Ego. This originated from a study of the aspects of burlesque and how, through the use of costume, the performer can create a surrealistic entity in which to portray an untouchable erotic deity, existing only within the confines of the stage. Moving from the egocentric specific of the burlesque, the focus broadened to the contemplation of the hypocrisy created around the consideration of the female body, the utilisation of the female form as a sensual visual tool as opposed to a taboo and vulnerable image.
