Topography of Silence
"If there were a little more silence, if we all kept quiet...maybe we could understand something." - Federico Fellini. Taking pictures, for me, is a reverse movement of fading, losing, sheathing. It is movement in the direction of understanding silence. It is not about silence in the environment but within us. In the creation process, internal silence lets us see harmony even in the biggest chaos. In a chaos that cannot be conveyed in words. This body of work is a story about just these emotions and things that, metaphorically speaking, are beyond the words and which we must entrust to silence, to its poetry and to its quiet power of framing the images.
