After Dark Rain Ends
I started this project on the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster; many of the images were made in an abandoned cold war bunker in Warsaw, the site of radiation tolerance tests carried out in the wake of the incident. At the time I was a child living in a Polish town 800 kilometres from ground zero. Ever since I have lived in its nuclear shadow. Fallout is invisible; its effects are not. This work is a map of my own nuclear anxiety.
