Hazel Boyle
I am interested in exploring the lives of people who are often forgotten by society for various reasons. With environmental images I aim to show the struggles they face, the lives they live behind closed doors. My subjects are fascinating people who have a story to be told, whether they be an addict, a lonely elderly person or living with mental health issues. I am also fascinated with the capture of places left behind after some of these people pass on; abandoned homes lingering with the loss and memories of those who once lived there. Creating these images has given me the opportunity to engage with a world which many turn a blind-eye to during their day-to-day lives.
