The Tribute Acts Series
This is an on-going series of environmental portraits dealing with identity and how each of us are different people, at different times, depending on different situations – at home, at work, with family etc. These people make their living through someone else's identity - not their own. They are tribute acts from around Ireland. Ordinary people, who live part of their lives as rather extraordinary people. But of course, these people aren't extraordinary stars – they, like us, do ordinary things, go to ordinary places - shops, curry houses, cheap hotels – so that’s what we did. The incongruity of who these people chose to be, mixed with the authentic location, creates a comic strangeness, an unpredictability – like the dynamics in identity itself.
