In September 2001 Source published an article about collect photographs by Ronan Deazley entitled Collecting Photographs, Copyrights and Cash. As a part of this article Source reproduced pictures of the killers of Jamie Bulger and the invoices from the agency, Mercury Press, who had supplied them. Source then refused to pay the invoice claiming that the agency had no right to charge a copyright fee for pictures that they did not own the rights to. Mercury press took Source to court and won the case obliging Source to pay the fee. This page previously held the judgement by the court with a commentary by Ronan Deazley this has been temporarily removed as a result of Mercury press threatening further legal action.
