Tom Ward
For my final degree project I started by looking at the work of Bill Brandt and Edward Weston, I was enthralled by their ability to abstract and portray their subjects in entirely new ways. I have taken the idea of transforming subjects into other forms and applied it to architecture. The aim of my project was to create a body of images of Buildings, and other man made structures that look like, echo or connote plants or aspects of nature. I have been inspired by the work of Stuart Redler, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Imogen Cunningham and Alexander Rodchenko.
