Gus Akerman
These five photographs represent a larger body of work that explores human endeavour and hope. In a time where the negative seems a far superior subject matter I find I strive to remind myself of the fun times, the mesmerising times, the comforting times. Those moments of pure happiness that are experienced in an instant and never forgotten. Colour and movement play a very large role in the photographs I make, deep blacks seep into nuclear greens and mustard yellow's creating a sensual almost tangible atmosphere.
