Personal Myths
"The role of the artist I now understood as that of revealing through the world-surfaces the implicit forms of the soul, and the great agent to assist the artist was the myth" (Joseph Campbell). Grounded in my everyday experiences, these photographs represent an attempt to engage meaningfully with the world around me as well as with the people whom I encounter in my daily life. Although made from an individual viewpoint, the success of the images is largely measured on how well they resonate with the viewer. While such a resonance is at the heart of any myth, the apparent contradiction in the title 'Personal Myths' refers to the ambiguity of meaning that is inherent in all forms of communication.
