Synopsis for Orange Blossom
It's hard to imagine the extent of the effect the Vietnam War had on the Vietnamese people. Apart from the socio-economic disaster the country was after the war it also had to deal with other profound problems such as the pollution of land with herbicides and chemicals. Lack of nourishing food combined with little healthcare alone increases chances of children being born with disabilities and defects. Orange Blossom examines the effort that the Vietnamese today are making to assist families with disabled children. This development is new- the single party government has been slow to accept that children, who are not able to keep up with the rest, need and are worth the extra time and money spent on them.
