Photophobia
'Photophobia' explores the ways in which you can never escape from light. It is a very powerful element which can be use in many different ways. I have experimented with photographing light, which focuses on the ways in which light can be both beneficial and detrimental to the health and wellbeing of humans. Epilepsy and migraine can both be triggered by bright and flashing lights where as softer lighting is used in sensory rooms to soothe those with conditions such as autism. My work incorporates both of these ideas showing both soothing and more vigorous light. My work is intended to be pleasing to the eye as it is often 'nice' things in life people who suffer from migraines or epilepsy miss out on.
