Alicia Hamerman
"X"
“X” offers a conceptual exploration of emptiness, grief and repair through image, installation and glass work. Alicia Hamerman takes a broad approach to image making, working with theory, poetry and biography to explore the sculptural and material potential of photography. She creates, destroys and then uses the pieces to build her way out. She assembles, reassembles and then probes at the fragments. Layered and meticulous, her process becomes a tool for navigating the complex nature of relationships and the self. "X" considers the spectrum of repair as a habitable space where aesthetic forms reside. Reading is provided but remains optional. Meaning is only suggested but never declared.
