Bewildered
My project ‘Bewildered’ explores the theme of migration, journey, and homesickness as 50-75% of the population have experienced homesickness within their lifetime. The images display articles and locations from my birthplace of Greece, my childhood home of Wales and my current residence in England. The series aims to share personal memories and evoke the feeling of bewilderment; the sense of no longer belonging nor the feeling of being home. It also seeks to open the conversation around migration, either to personal choices or uncontrollable situations, and sharing childhood sentiments of nostalgia linked to image and location. Referencing work of Rinko Kawachi, Daniel Billingham, William Eggleston and Martin Parr, photographers that explore the colourful theme of home.
