Natasha Cheek
Dis/Associate
“Dis/Associate” is a series of still life collages that incorporate items, objects and images that depict my exploration and collaboration with my own persistent pain: the experience of living each day with both chronic and acute pain and the wish to disassociate myself from it. Throughout September, October, and early November of 2025, I attended weekly group sessions at The Locomotor Pain Service, part of the Integrated Medical and Rehabilitation Services Division of Homerton University Hospital. The work represents how I understood pain, how I used to hold onto it and not let go and never allowed myself to grieve for the life I had without it.
