Scattered Queendom
Scattered Queendom is a portrait series I am creating as a Bristol-based photographer, honouring the quiet strength of diasporic women living in the city, whose lives thread together stories of resistance, identity and inheritance. Through collaborative portraiture, the work aims to weave a visual tapestry of women who preserve culture and create belonging across distances. Each photograph conveys resilience shaped by migration and community. The work is both personal and political – shaped by my own experiences of migration and belonging, and grounded in a belief that collective storytelling and co-creation can challenge dominant narratives and contribute to positive change.
