A Brief Moment in Time
A Brief Moment in Time is a journey through the places and memory of the illegal ‘orbital’ raves of the long hot summer of 1989. The end of a decade of social and political upheaval, the repression of protest and the marginalisation of the alternative fringes of society saw a moment that caught the establishment off guard. A generation broke free and discovered themselves in the disused warehouses, airstrips and pastoral fields around the recently completed M25 Orbital motorway . A brief moment in time that was lied about by a hysterical media, repressed by panicked authority and eventually criminalised by the State, but added another layer of meaning - of legends and memories - to our customs, enabling an unspoken deeper understanding.
