Samuel Nohe Ireland
America
Samuel Nohe Ireland is an American artist who studied at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London during the 2024-2025 academic year, graduating in August 2025. Donald Trump’s second term as U.S. president, and serious concerns about its associated neo-fascist elements, clearly influence his work. As a photographer, Mr. Ireland is naturally drawn to plays of light, colour, and movement, as well as subjects that include humour, the uncanny, nature, urban and suburban spaces, mythology, and political, socioeconomic, and cultural issues. In addition to his work at RCA, Mr. Ireland holds an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City, an MBA from Portland State University, and a BA in History/Art History from the University of Arizona. He has served as the Executive Director, been a member of the Board of Trustees, and is currently active as a member of the Ambassador Council at the Kunsthalle Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Tucson, located in the Sonoran Desert about an hour's drive north of the U.S.-Mexican border, where he was born and raised.
