Visceral Tales
'Visceral Tales' transports the viewer into a raw, primal state, confronting how we engage with the abject and the photographic image. Through large format photography, identity is undone, meaning unsettled, and boundaries dissolve. What has been cast out is reclaimed, as the abject manifests visually. The figures occupy a liminal space – between the pre-linguistic and the symbolic – evoking unease and the fear of returning to a chaotic, undifferentiated state. Yet, within this visceral context, they gain voice: expressive, glamorised, and empowered to narrate. These are not just images of horror, but of transformation. 'Visceral Tales' reveals the fragile tensions between self and other, presence and absence, horror and beauty – inviting us to reconsider how we construct, reject, and reclaim identity.
