Nik Simon
Inherited Mass
My practice centres on the emotional atmosphere of spaces and how environments can quietly hold memory, tension, or absence. I focus on the interplay of light, surface, and form, with a focal point on small details, shadows and textures. I’m interested in how images can suggest presence without explanation, inviting reflection rather than resolution. Often leaning into abstraction, my work aims to slow the act of looking, encouraging a sensitivity to what sits beneath the surface. Through a minimal and careful visual language, I explore how space becomes more than background, how it stores feeling, carries time, and leaves behind an echo.
