Can't Touch This
Can’t Touch This is a reaction to the increasing impact of Artificial Intelligence on photography. Physically overpainting family photographs to express personal memory intuitively led to processing a family photograph through AI. The result reflected the fragmented nature of artificial intelligence. In response, the photographer revisited the family album, not to manipulate it but to unconsciously observe what the images revealed. This led to the realisation that human awareness is not computational. Photographing family members' daily lives and embracing the vernacular - ordinary yet significant moments - became a heightened experience. By confronting AI, not as a tool but as a provocation, this project has enhanced the artists' photographic awareness of their surroundings and enriched their sense of subjectivity.
