Sharon Huang

‘Hi, Trojan Horse’ examines the aesthetics of control and the illusory sense of agency under surveillance capitalism, through the continuous accumulation of unconscious imagery. Composed of 3,000 photographs taken in Morocco and a fractured head sculpture filled with candy, the project reflects the seductive yet invasive nature of data extraction. The photos, seemingly spontaneous, mirror algorithmic behaviours and visual conditioning. The hollow head, a self-portrait as both observer and subject, symbolises the illusion of agency under digital systems, where sweetness masks control.
