Fashion Climate
This series developed from one section of my fashion editorial project, Fashion Climate. It explores layering as a way of commenting on overconsumption within contemporary fashion culture and the need for more sustainable practices, including second-hand clothing, vintage garments, and environmentally conscious materials. My fashion photography has always been shaped by my personal love of vintage clothing and my concern about fashion’s damaging impact on the environment. Inspired by the work of Lisa Jureczko, I experimented with layered garments, colour, and fabric textures to create sculptural shapes and designs. Through these images, I wanted to highlight the beauty of vintage and second-hand clothing while using fashion imagery itself as a commentary on excessive clothing consumption today within modern visual culture.
