“Men look at women; women watch themselves being looked at” John Berger. In a world so corrupted by societal standards, gender stereotypes and a resisted desire to fit in. Stop looking is a collage-based project focusing on the damage caused by impossible societal standards. Stop looking, start seeing. Is there a single thought that is authentic to oneself? Who are we if not what we are fed to believe? The truth of social standards and just how much mental health surrenders to a life filled with trauma, corruption and disconnect. Deconstruct my childhood photos; as I show the reality of how I experienced the strain of expectations, which eventually lead to my own heartache.
