Мені страшно признатися: Я щаслива — I am afraid to admit: I am happy
This photo project explores love that exists within division, culture and war. The participants of this project are mixed couples from Ukraine and Russia. Having dual identities myself, I approach this project as personal experience of inner division and exploration of intimacy. War integrates into everyday life as invisible reminder of anxiety, distance and guilt. However, they chose peace instead of hatred, kindness instead of separation. This project is an attempt to preserve the fragile humanity in which love becomes more powerful that political boarders.
