Rituals & Superstitions
Rituals and Superstitions is a photographic project exploring the personal routines and beliefs that shape my experience within ice hockey. In sport, rituals help create focus, discipline, and the correct mindset before competition, while superstitions are believed to give athletes even the smallest psychological edge. This project documents both game-day and injury-related rituals, showing how repetitive actions become emotionally significant over time. Through staged and documentary-inspired imagery, the work explores themes of identity, pressure, recovery, and belief, revealing how routine and superstition become deeply connected to both performance and personal experience within sport.
