i just need an early night
'I just need an early night' explores self-portraiture within the domestic space. Through analogue techniques, it has been entirely removed from blue light technology, the viewer into their own environment. It brings to the surface the unease that comes with vulnerability and disconnection from safe spaces. Utilising surrealist ideologies, the project delves into the subconscious and visualises the feeling of distortion present in Alice in Wonderland syndrome, where space and scale are unstable. The domestic space becomes uncomfortable, and unease is felt where safety should be present. Where softness and security from the material space should be found, instead discomfort and suffocation take place. Through unexpected interactions with the environment, the unknown is encouraged.
