Sehnsucht
'This work began as an attempt to understand my own longing, where it lived, where it held space in my body and my lived experience. It became something beyond that. The work started calling me toward it. I was simply giving it space to exist. Making this work asked me to sit inside feelings I had not yet named. To photograph longing was to admit it was there. That process was uncomfortable and necessary in equal measure. It is shared, available, and yours if you want it. 'Sehnsucht' is an invitation to discomfort. A place to sit with desire, to question what you want and why you want it. The body, as archive. The image as mirror.
