Hiraeth

Hiraeth is a project that explores what home is and how it is more than a safe domicile for one to return to. To me home is where someone belongs, where they feel safe, comfortable and at peace. That can be in a place, a person or even a feeling. Throughout all human history home is something that has been abandoned repeatedly. The feeling of Hiraeth captures that nostalgic dread, that homesickness that someone feels when they cannot return to where they belong. I hope that the viewer can connect with these images and think back onto a time once lived that cannot be returned to and apricate how lucky we are to have memories that we miss.
