Let Your Life Speak
Quakerism is a nearly 400-year-old movement rooted in Christianity, though today it is shaped by a wide range of spiritual influences. Founded on principles of peace, equality, and simplicity, contemporary Quaker beliefs often differ from person to person. Central to Quaker thought is the idea that there is something valuable within everyone, often described as the ‘inner light’ or simply ‘the good’. This project explores the concept of ‘Let your life speak’, a phrase taken from the Quaker book Advices and Queries, to consider how faith can be expressed through everyday action. Using 35mm and 120mm film to emphasise qualities of stillness, authenticity and gentle enquiry, this body of work invites the viewer into a space of quiet reflection and contemplation.
