Branon Annett
Idiosyncratic
Idiosyncratic examines how people navigate life in cities defined by continuous change. Idiosyncratic means having strange or unusual habits. This is reflected in the way the people within my images function in a state of constant change. The term is interchangeable with the people and the cities they find themselves in. Rather than representing the city as a fixed subject, the work focuses on internal experiences within it and on those who inhabit it. At a time when questions of identity, alienation, and belonging are increasingly central to contemporary society, this work offers a timely and necessary exploration of how individuals navigate and make sense of spaces that are constantly shifting. Things change, people change, the world changes, keep up.
