Terms of Violation
This project highlights the alarming rise of AI-generated sexual abuse imagery and its harmful impact on victims. At its core are the subjects, each sharing personal experiences that reveal a growing and troubling issue. 'Terms of Violation' stems from over a year of research into incel ideologies and online forums, exposing spaces where women face constant objectification. Combined with increasing violence against women, this reinforced the urgency of the work. In a studio setting, I created eight portraits, using masks to protect identities while emphasizing the humanity behind each image. With Northern Ireland now having the highest femicide rate in Europe, this project aims to raise awareness of an escalating and deeply concerning crisis.
