keep On Keeping On
In the photobook ‘Keep On Keeping On’, I have explored the complex lifestyle of woman’s bodybuilding, where disciplined rituals holds purpose, acting as both a coping mechanism and an obsession, through militarized routine and control. The process within the imagery highlights the consistency and sacrifice needed to step on a stage, through countless logbook pages, repetitive imagery and routine. The woman in this photobook have taught me to be loud, take up space and unapologetically grow, in body and mind. As a community, most consistent gym goers use training as an outlet and a redirection of pain, coming from traumatic experiences, addiction, abuse, self-harm, replacing the obsession through a healthier alternative.
