'In its own right'This series of photographs is to examine the places and people that constitute the character of one of Dublin city's oldest surviving areas, the Liberties. Its name goes back to medieval times, when this locality was a self-governing district. Nowadays, as the Liberties finds itself situated within an ever-changing contemporary Dublin, it is weighted by diverse opinions and preconceptions of its distinct character. My aim is to get at the heart of the disposition of the area through a multi-layered perspective that captures moments in the stories of a complex urban landscape.
