These images were made after a number of years working in O'Hanlon's Bar in Astoria, New York. I gained the trust and friendship of these men through my job as a bartender. The men were either happily divorced or desperate to get married. They granted me access to the private worlds of their apartments and allowed me to produce the following set of portraits.The work was on show at Tiskel Arts Centre in Cork in June 2001.
