Though on face value, my work is quite diverse, its consistent theme is a representation of what is personal to me during my daily life. The diptychs of my book 'Fragments' form part of a visual diary. These images, taken sporadically, show scraps of memory, representing fragmented aspects of a life. The portraiture series, 'Faces I have known', echoes this personal motif by capturing the faces and characteristics of selected people from various areas of my life. These images are created in intimate atmospheres, far removed from the typical formality of studio portraits. Finally, 'Book Covers' unites my love for reading with photography, in a series which re-envisions photographic cover illustrations for classic novels.
