Solmaz Tahvilzadeh
Kadoosan Grand Hotel is located in Anzali, one of the major seaports in the north of Iran, on the Caspian Sea. It was built, by order of the Shah of Iran, in the 1950's and was to be an example of a future for Iran heavily modelled on the American way of life. For a time it was one of the most popular luxury hotels in Iran, catering to both wealthy Iranians and foreign tourists, but now the Shah is gone and the Hotel stands as a memorial to the optimism of Iran prior to the revolution.
