Lydia Vernon
I am a visual artist working within the medium of photography. I move between the worlds of fine art and fashion, bringing a theatrical aspect to my 'hyperreal' self-portraits. My imagery is strongly influenced by the film choices of my father when I was a child in the nineties. The sci-fi genre in particular was especially interesting with its illusions of a phantasmagorical future and its use of the femme fatale. Blade Runner made an impact on my work - in particular, the passive expressions o the 'replicants'. I capture these 'personas' in themed B&B rooms.
