Sophie spends a lot of her time documenting her late grandmother's house where she spent a great deal of her time growing up. The majority of her work is about preserving the memories. 'Things should stay the same' is a body of work documenting the things throughout the house that have been the same since she can remember. Since the passing of her grandmother things are slowly starting to change and through her images she wanted to preserve them so that they couldn't be changed, using the camera as a glass case. The concept and grounding of her body of work originated from the quote from J.D Slinger, Catcher in the Rye 'Certain things should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those glass cases and just leave them alone.'
