The China Clay industry, imperative to the history of South West England is fast disappearing, likewise the photographic industry's analogue traditions, are being dominated by the digital age. Before these traces of industry become extinct, I have attempted to record some of the geological sores left by the china clay works using analogue photographic techniques. I have then manipulated the films by soaking them in clay and water native to the sites I photograph, before processing. This is to emphasize the tactile elements of a photographic print, a rarity in the digital age.
