As the crow flies
As the crow flies is about an ongoing obsession; the continual chasing of something illusive and unattainable, something unidentifiable, that exists within us but is forever overlooked in its pursuit. Whilst this body of work addresses an undeniable and deeply-held fascination for the birds themselves, it is ultimately more concerned with the complex symbolism and metaphor surrounding them and their connection to the transitions and challenges faced. All of the images represent something about an inner turmoil that is always difficult to articulate: the seeping darkness of continued regret and self-doubt; a momentary euphoric suspension of belief; an unshakeable impending fear and acceptance of the inevitable.
