Lately in the UK the media has associated poverty with 'wasted money' and people 'sponging off the state', when the reality couldn't be more different. Foodbanks have seen a dramatic increase in people needing their help, and with the recent budget cuts countless people have been forced into horrific financial situations. I was brought up within a working class environment and I believe having this upbringing has enabled me to gain a better understanding of what is really happening with politics in Britain. I am proud of my upbringing, and I decided to create a project that illustrated my own fond feelings I have for my past as well as showing my audience that the media doesn't always show the whole picture.
