The intention of the photographs that compose this body of work is to explore different aspects of the docks. It is definitely about the landscape of the place itself but it is also about what it represents. The port is in fact a non-place although it is a place of work to many people and a very busy place at times. Although there is a deadpan feeling to the images it is possible to feel attached to them. I would say the work is about the personality of the docks; an area that is the familiar and unfamiliar at once.
